If you have any questions about our rates, please feel free to contact me.
Why do you charge extra for master CD-Rs?
When preparing a master for release on a tangible medium (a CD), it's just more work and more time. The Master CD-R must be properly sequenced, coded, burned, and then listened to in real-time for errors. Since digital delivery does not involve a physical media, there is less time involved and therefore it is a less expensive process.
I now offer two ways to master for vinyl:
1. If you are getting your vinyl pressed by a plant who accepts CDR "Vinyl Pre-Masters" the regular per track mastering rates apply on top of the $100 flat vinyl pre-master CDR fee.
2. Having a Master Lacquer cut of your music. This process is a tad more expensive and time consuming, but gives you the best sounding vinyl possible.
Here are the rates for extra services you may require:
Master Delivery in Multiple Sample Rates - $5/track
If you need different sample rates besides the standard 16bit/44100kHz format.
Master Delivery in MP3 or AAC format - $5/track
If you need your music in MP3 or AAC format for web delivery.
Layback to Tape - $25/track
Sometimes you just want the sound of your music printed to tape. I use my Mike Spitz modified ATR-102 inch tape machine to "Layback" your music onto tape and recapture it digitally.
Stem Mastering - $125/hr
Stem Mastering is a little more time consuming so I charge an hourly rate. The average track mastered from stems takes 45 minutes. For more information about stem mastering, click here.
Transfers - $125/hr (minimum 1 hour)
I also can also do digital transfers, direct analog transfers, or format conversions of your cassette tapes, reel to reel tapes and vinyl records.
Restoration - $125/hr (minimum 1/2 hour)
Noise removal from audio recordings is also available.
Full payment is required before the final master is delivered.
I accept credit cards, checks, paypal, and of course cash.
An invoice will be sent with payment instuctions once the mastering is complete.
